DVS1 - Mixes Fabric 96 (2017)

Zak Khutoretsky, is behind the next fabric mix, due out in December. The 29-track mix is made up mostly unreleased material, including 16 tunes forthcoming on Khutoretskys labels, Steve Bicknell and Mark Broom. There are also new tracks from Planetary Assault Systems, Truncate and Henning Baer. The mix CD concept was much more difficult to put together than I had imagined, says the Minneapolis resident. As I don't do mixes and havent released any mixes in over four years, I kept going back and forth in my mind leading up to selecting music about what style. Khutoretsky has been a fixture in the Midwestern techno scene since the mid-'90s, and in the past decade he's also become a prominent face in the European techno scene and festival circuit, known especially for extended sets at Berghain.

Henning Baer & Milton Bradley - A Shared Objective (2014)

K209 are slowly making their way out of the shadows and in doing so more of their personality is revealed. Prior to this release you'd never hear hyped vocals say something like 'over here', but that's exactly what happens over the grungy bassline and drums that is "Sleeper". "14vac" sounds like a broken down service lift trying to regenerate itself, but it's the sound of "Duality" that will be most familiar with followers Henning Baer and Milton Bradley. This record, though, is all about the ripping gurgle of "Divergence", and "Beat 992" which sounds like an old school Do Not Resist The Beat 12" mixed with Milton Bradley Prologue. Big techno.
